Part One - 1619 Virginia - The First African Slaves arrive.  Life in Africa and the beginning of the European Slave Trade as an industry to drive the New World.  Colonies Grow in the New World and Caribbean, slavery grows primarily in the south.

Part Two - 18th Century Colonial America and Slavery under the rule of the British Empire.  “The Middle Passage” and the Atlantic Slave Trade.  The Zong Massacre at Sea.  The American Revolution - Slaves fight on both sides.  1775 British Lord Dunmore's proclamation to offer freedom to slave who fight for the British.

Part Three - Slavery in the United States after the Revolution.  Slavery and the Constitution.  Slave Revolt in the Caribbean.  1807 - Laws end the “legal” Atlantic Slave Trade in the U.S.  The First Slave Rebellions in the United States and white fear of the black man begins.  Britain abolishes Slavery. Missouri Compromise of 1820.

Part Four - Nat Turner’s Rebellion, 1831.  Amistad story 1839.  Birth of Harriet Tubman.  Frederick Douglass.  Sojourner Truth.  The Underground Railroad begins.  Slave Auctions.
